Causing Hope is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to helping the public by educating, identifying, and preventing child sexual abuse in the United States. Our members are a network of individuals who come together to empower survivors, educate communities, and protect children from abuse and exploitation. The U.S. has come a long way in understanding the impact of child sexual abuse on children and their development. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) long ago declared child sexual abuse as an epidemic public health risk. However, we have a long way to go before our response to disclosure is consistent, effective, and blends with the necessary therapeutic intervention for the child.

While our mission is noble, it's likely you won't like a lot of what you read and learn about how child sexual abuse victims are treated, nor how the perpetrators are dealt with in the criminal justice system. The fact is that we only successfully prosecute approximately 3% of sexual offenders. However, the information provided is truthful, accurate, and meant to help you navigate this troubled journey at such a terrible time.
